PERFECT AUDIENCE MEMBER
YOUNG + RUBICAM:
My music video has such a diverse concept that should appeal ro all types of audiences, just some more than others. Luckily, I have picked out which aspects of the MV that will appeal to each category out of the 7 available.
ASPIRER:
Since the Aspirer is driven by other's perception of them, the narrative of my music video is quite perfect to tell them to love themselves and to find their own person instead of caring too much about what other people think about them. The whole metaphor in my video is that because the girl is struggling so much with her home life, she goes out and finds herself by meeting these symbols, making her own, and leaving her own mark in places.
REFORMER:
The Reformer is the type of person to do as they please: "Don't tell me what to do or what to think". Because of this, this music video should appeal healthily to the reformer, agreeing with their views and showing them how another person (the girl in the MV) does it themselves. This should keep this person involved in the song and the video, helping them also to reflect on their own morals.
These three categories of audience will be my target audience. My perfect viewer, however, would be something like the description below.
This music video shall appeal to any gender, bay it be male, female, or non conforming. Aside from the fact I have no gender neutral actors in my music video, the whole theme about being who you are still conforms to any gender. This being, the audience member perfect for this video may vary.
Male:
My perfect male audience member should be the standard teenage boy, but not the most popular. Not being fussy eaters, they enjoy home made meals, but also enjoy going out for fast food or takeaway every now and then. The clothes they wear vary from black jeans to shorts, and from white t-shirts to long sleeved patterns. The type of music they listen to would be the standardised mainstream music, pop, but they also like alternative or indie. Alongside mainstream music, this member also enjoys social media’s such as Facebook and Instagram, following both influencers and comedic pages more than they follow their friends or people they know.
Female:
My perfect female audience member, on the other hand, is much more conscious of her life. They enjoy McDonald’s, since they can show they’re friends they’re at a widely loved fast food place, but they also love shopping. Unfortunately they don’t exactly have the money to pay for everything they’d want, especially not designer, but shopping in the sales keeps their perception of themselves up enough to accept social confrontation. Similarly to the males, they enjoy mainstream music, Facebook and Instagram, but they follow more influencers and people from school than the boys. The fashion they were is strictly mainstream, and they keep their wardrobe to what everyone else likes. I hope my music video will twist their perception of themselves and let them be more free in who they are and want to be.
